Keck-Craig is a 55 year old company offering consulting engineering, machine fabrication and product design services to corporations, individuals and small business requiring production machinery and new product development. The firm has a strong capability to respond quickly to client needs and a broad background in creative and practical solutions in the areas of industrial design, new product development and the design of production machinery. Several of the firm’s development projects have formed the basis for new industries and all patents derived from the firm’s work are assigned to clients.
Warren Haussler has been President of Keck-Craig since 1992, when he bought out an original partner. His experience includes engineering design, product development, project management and marketing. He has degrees in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester, New York. His early career involvement was in atomic bomb development and the first nuclear-powered submarine and later in industrial product development, medical devices and production machinery design and fabrication.
Steve Kimmell joined the firm in 2006 as Vice President, Industrial Design. He graduated from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois, with a B.S in Product Design, and has practiced across a broad range of consumer, aerospace and commercial business sectors. With a strong track record of invention, he is credited with more than a dozen patents and has national awards in a diversity of design fields including medical devices and surgical instruments, manufactured housing, solar-powered biofuel generation and high-performance skateboards and roller skates. Prior to merging his own firm, Spectrum Design, Inc., with Keck-Craig, Mr. Kimmell served as Vice President Special Products at Mattell, Inc., in Los Angeles and as Director of Industrial Design for Baxter Healthcare in Burbank, California.
Keck-Craig’s staff includes engineering and design personnel thoroughly experienced in mechanical engineering, electronics, industrial design, model making, machine fabrication and assembly. The firm is located in Pasadena, California in a 4800 sq. ft. building that includes a 2200 sq. ft. machine shop and fabrication facility, engineering and design studios, a laboratory, library and office areas.
